Front office supervisor

Our client, whose vision is to be the leading operator of short stay and long term accommodation in the limited service economy hotels and suites segment in East Africa is seeking dynamic, energetic and passionate individual to fill the role of Front Office Supervisor.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of all Front of House areas to the standards laid down by the organization and creating a friendly atmosphere at the front Office
  • Ensuring adherence to policy and procedures regarding the efficient check-in/check-out of guests promptly and courteously
  • Ensuring smooth reception, happiness, satisfaction of guests and creating a friendly atmosphere at the Front office.
  • Ensure guest bills are settled accurately and efficiently without delay.
  • Organizing staff duties, shift schedule (duty rooster), leave days and ensuring shifts are covered properly.
  • Organizing requisition of stationery and ensure proper use of the same.
  • Ensure proper handover of details during shift change and a record of the same on handover book. Also ensure day’s sales are forwarded to the accounts office after shift closure.
  • Acts as the front office manager when the manager is not in the office
  • Ensure proper Communication between the Front office and the Housekeeping Department regarding guest rooms and requests.
  • Ensure proper personal grooming of F.O staff is observed at all times and cleanliness at the front office area is maintained.
  • Ensure that staff remain attentive to details, act professionally and be proactive (anticipating guests needs).
  • Maintain high standards of customer service at the reception by ensuring all enquires are responded to in a courteous and timely manner and all visitors are treated with great respect.

Desired Skills/Qualifications

  • Degree in Hotel Management or diploma in Front Office Operations
  • 5 years experience in a supervisory or management role in the Front Office Department of a 2-3 star rated Hotel
  • Excellent knowledge of Fidelio and Micros
  • Knowledge of SUN systems will be an added advantage
  • Excellent written & spoken English, interpersonal skills and presentation skills
